Soke (Grandmaster) Tamas Weber
 

Tamas was born in 1942 and began his martial arts training in the early 1950's.
In 1957, Tamas graduated to 1st dan black belt. Today he holds the rank of 10th dan black belt, which is the highest grade given to any non-japanese person in karate.

During his long martial arts career, Tamas also earned a black belt in Judo, Aikido, and Jiu Jitsu. In the style of Shito-Ryu, he has been awarded the title of Hanshi.

Because of Tamas' early beginnings in karate, he has trained with, and been influenced by, many great Japanese masters such as Tani, Nambu, Fujiwara, Hayashi and Kuniba.
Tamas also spent some time living in Okinawa, to further his knowledge and skills.

In 1965, Tamas began work as an instructor. He currently holds Swedish Budo Association instructor license-C,-B,-A and Elite. During the 1970's, Tamas was part of the Swedish national karate team.

Tamas has provided close combat training to the armed forces, and self-defense training for police in Stockholm. Internationally, he has trained police and military units in many countries around the world.

In 2008, Tamas was elected as the first European in the Masters Hall of Fame in the United States. He served with honor in the rank of the legendary Foreign Legion, and has written two books about his life: The Warrior's Rose and The Song of the Desert.

Tamas is recognized as one of Europe's premiere close combat experts.
Today, he oversees the running of Svea Kampsportcenter, a centre in Stockholm where various martial arts clubs gather under the same roof.

Besides running the centre and being an active instructor in its karate club, Soke Tamas Weber focuses on the development of Sanshin-Kan International, the organisation he founded.
